State authorisationThe title of Danish state-authorised translator is a protected title, which can only be acquired once having obtained an MA degree in business language from one of the Danish business schools (MA Translation and Interpretation) and following appointment by the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency. Danish state-authorised translators hold the exclusive right to make certified translations. Certified translations are required e.g. in connection with documents to be presented in legal proceedings, when contracting marriage abroad or when applying for admission at foreign educational establishments. With his/her seal, signature and endorsement the state-authorised translator certifies the translation to be a complete and faithful translation of the original text. Danish state-authorised translators work for business enterprises, the police and courts of law. State-authorised translators are bound to observe professional secrecy.
